Invisalign treatment is a teeth straightening method that uses a series of removable, clear aligners to straighten teeth. The aligners are made of smooth, comfortable plastic that won't irritate your cheeks and gums as traditional metal braces can.
What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an innovative alternative to traditional braces that uses a series of invisible, removable trays to shift your teeth into the desired positions over time. The clear aligners can be easily removed for eating, brushing, and flossing, so there are no diet restrictions or difficult cleaning routines to worry about. Plus, there's no metal to cause cuts and mouth abrasions during treatment. Invisalign's smooth plastic is gentle on the teeth and gums. Our dentist can determine if Invisalign treatment is appropriate for you and create your custom treatment plan.
What Are the Advantages of Invisalign?
There are many advantages of Invisalign. They are easily removable, which makes it easier to brush and floss your teeth. And since they are clear, no one will even know you are wearing them. You can take them off before eating and brushing your teeth, so there is no need to change your diet. Since they are custom-made to fit your mouth, they are more comfortable than traditional braces.
What Problems Does Invisalign Address?
Invisalign straightens your teeth without wires and brackets using a series of clear, customized, removable appliances called aligners. It's virtually undetectable, which means hardly anyone will know that you're straightening your teeth. Invisalign can address dental issues like dental malocclusion, a narrow arch, crowded or crooked teeth, and gaps between teeth.
How Does Invisalign Work?
The Invisalign system uses a custom-made series of clear, plastic aligners to gradually move your teeth into their desired positions. As you switch to a new aligner set every few weeks, your smile will gradually improve until you've achieved the smile you've been dreaming of!
Our dentist will first take X-rays and impressions of your teeth in order to create a 3D model of your mouth for the lab technicians to use in creating your series of aligners. Then, our dentist will send your treatment plan to the lab so they can create your custom aligners. Each set of aligners will be worn for about two weeks before progressing to the next set in the series. You'll return to see the dentist every six weeks for checkups to make sure your treatment is on track.
Once your treatment is finished, you'll need to wear your retainers in order to maintain your results.
